Since January of 2010, we have had many our chamber members take advantage of our Bulk Mail Permit.

Taking advantage of our bulk mail permit doesn’t mean that you receive free postage. However, you do receive the Chamber’s discounted bulk mail rate. You will need to take a check for the total amount of your mailing to the post office with you.

Utilizing the Chamber’s bulk mail permit is a major member benefit. It can save you a great deal of money! The process can be a little time consuming depending on the size of your mailing. Please plan accordingly.

Key Points:
Must have 200 or more pieces
Every piece must be identical, both in size and contents
At least 150 pieces of the total mailing must be going to the same first 3-digit match of zip code (i.e. 494XX)
All pieces must be sorted by zip code
Must have the Chamber’s Permit number where the stamp would normally appear. To save time, this information can be pre-printed on the pieces (on an envelope if using one or directly on the piece if not using an envelope)

Bulk Mail Instructions
Address each piece appropriately
Sort all pieces that have a 5-digit match per each zip code
Next sort all pieces that have a 3-digit match and bundle as directed above
Pieces that do not have a 5- or 3-digit match are called mixed and should be bundled as per previous instructions
Bundle each zip code with 150 pieces or more into groupings of no less than 10 items per group
Bundles must be rubber banded around the length and the width
Take an exact count of each zip code . This count will be used to determine the cost of the mailing and must be exact

Upon completion of this process, call us at 616.531.8890 to schedule an appointment for assistance in completing the mailing. Appropriate paperwork can be obtained from the Chamber and a staff signature is required.
